Lost & Found
Did you lose something on a Metro vehicle or at a station or bus stop? The easiest and most efficient way to report a lost item is by filling out a Lost Item Report online or in-person.
How to report a lost item in person
Visit the Lost & Found office to complete a lost item report, and attach a photo (optional). The Lost & Found office is located at 3571 Pasadena Av (near A Line Heritage Station). Hours: Monday-Saturday, 9am-5pm (closed major holidays)
What to expect after you submit a report
After you submit a report online or in-person, we’ll send you an email confirmation with a reference number. Save this email because you’ll need to provide the reference number and a valid ID to recover your items if they are found.
We’ll notify you at the contact information you provided if the item is found.
How to turn in an item
Please turn in found items at the Metro Headquarters building, located at 1 Gateway Plaza (downtown LA), or the Lost & Found office at 3571 Pasadena Av (near A Line Heritage Station).
Your item was found! How to get it back
Please come to the Lost & Found office. You’ll be required to show a valid ID and a reference number.
Pick up for bicycles only is at Metro Headquarters building, located at 1 Gateway Plaza (downtown LA), Monday-Friday, from 8am-12pm and 1-3:30pm (except major holidays).
Need us to ship to you? We will package items and complete shipping documents, only after a completed Release Form has been submitted. Metro does not pay for shipping items under any circumstance. For your security, we will only accept an account number from a shipping company or a prepaid postage shipping label from a shipping provider (see shipping label procedure). We will not accept cash or credit card payments for shipping charges.
Are you sending someone to pick up your found property? Please fill out the Property Release Form, including the Designee section, to authorize release of your property to someone you designate. For your protection, you must include a copy of a government issued photo ID, such as a driver license or passport. Return the completed form with a copy of your ID by mail or email at MetroLostAndFound@metro.net.
Your designated person must provide a valid government issued photo ID that matches the name on the form when they pick-up.
How long does Metro hold found items
Found items are held for 90 days. After 90 days, unclaimed items are auctioned at Ken Porter Auctions (tel 310.353.7140).
